The Bulgin SS316 Check Valve is a compact, high-pressure non-return valve designed to allow gas flow in one direction while helping prevent unwanted reverse flow through the system.
Part of the VCV1 Series, this variant features a 316L stainless steel body, EPDM O-ring and 1/4" NPT male inlet × 1/4" NPT male outlet connections, with a maximum working pressure of 206 bar (20,600 kPa).
The VCV1 Series is designed primarily for instrumentation panels and gas systems and is available in a wide range of connection configurations, allowing the valve to be specified according to the requirements of the installation. EPDM is the standard O-ring material, with Viton® available as an option.

How a Check Valve Works
A check valve is designed to permit gas flow in one direction while preventing reverse flow.
During normal operation, upstream gas pressure acts against the internal valve mechanism. Once the pressure differential reaches the valve's cracking pressure, the valve opens and allows gas to pass through.
If upstream pressure falls or downstream pressure attempts to flow back towards the supply, the internal mechanism closes to restrict reverse flow.
The VCV1 Series has a specified cracking pressure of 1 psi (approximately 6.9 kPa), providing a relatively low opening pressure for integration into instrumentation and gas control systems.

Available Configurations
While this product page describes the 1/4" NPT Male × Male version, the VCV1 Series is designed as a configurable check valve platform with numerous inlet and outlet connection options.
Depending on the selected configuration, the range includes:
-
Tube fitting connections from 1/8" through to 1"
-
Metric tube fitting connections from 3 mm through to 20 mm
-
Female NPT connections from 1/8" through to 1"
-

-
Male face seal connections
-
Alternative O-ring materials
This allows system designers, technicians and OEMs to select a connection arrangement appropriate for the equipment being manufactured or serviced.
Material & Seal Selection
The VCV1 Series uses 316L stainless steel construction, providing a robust material platform for professional gas and instrumentation systems.
EPDM is the standard O-ring material for the series, while Viton® is available as an alternative option. The appropriate sealing material should be selected according to the intended gas, operating conditions and material compatibility requirements.
Connection & Compatibility
This particular variant features:
|
| Inlet | 1/4" NPT Male |
| Outlet | 1/4" NPT Male |
The compact male-to-male configuration makes the valve particularly useful where a non-return valve needs to be installed inline between compatible female NPT components within an instrumentation panel, manifold or gas control assembly.
Always confirm the thread type, working pressure, flow direction, seal material and gas compatibility before installation.
Note: This product page describes the 206 bar, SS316L, EPDM, 1/4" NPT Male × Male variant of the VCV1 Series. Other connection and seal configurations are available. Always confirm the valve pressure rating, sealing material, connection type and compatibility with the intended gas service before installation.
Designed for Professional Gas Systems
The Bulgin SS316 Check Valve – EPDM, 206 Bar, 1/4" NPT Male × Male combines 316L stainless steel construction, a compact design, low cracking pressure and bubble-tight leak performance in a professional non-return valve for gas and instrumentation systems.
With numerous connection configurations available across the VCV1 Series, the range provides a flexible solution for integration into instrumentation panels, manifolds, pressure control assemblies and purpose-built gas systems.
