The Bulgin Air–Propane Expansion Power Burner is a professional-grade industrial heating burner engineered to deliver exceptionally high heat output from an air–propane system. Originally designed and engineered by Don Bulgin, the Expansion Burner became one of the standout products in the original Bulgin Gas Equipment range and remains a distinctive part of the Bulgin heating equipment portfolio today.
The burner features Bulgin's unique coiled expansion tube surrounding the burner head, which uses heat generated during operation to preheat the incoming LPG before combustion. This expansion-style design produces a powerful, concentrated blue flame and substantial thermal output for demanding heating applications.
Available in 50mm and 76mm sizes, the Expansion Power Burner is suited to professional trade and industrial applications where rapid heat transfer, durability and high heating capacity are required.

Designed for Professional Performance
The defining feature of the Bulgin Expansion Power Burner is the coiled expansion tube positioned around the burner head. During operation, heat generated by the burner preheats the LPG as it travels through the expansion section before reaching the burner injector.
This distinctive design enables the burner to produce substantial thermal output while retaining the portability and simplicity of an air–propane heating system.
The 50mm model provides an excellent balance between concentrated heating performance and LPG consumption, while the larger 76mm model is designed for applications requiring significantly greater heat input and faster heating of large workpieces or surface areas.

Burner Selection
The 50mm Expansion Power Burner delivers 372 MJ/h and is well suited to general industrial heating, roofing, waterproofing, fabrication and steel preheating applications where a combination of high heat output and manoeuvrability is required.
The 76mm Expansion Power Burner delivers 823 MJ/h, providing more than twice the heat output of the 50mm model. It is designed for heavy-duty applications requiring rapid heating of larger workpieces and surface areas.
LPG Supply Requirements
Expansion Power Burners have high LPG consumption rates and require a suitably sized LPG supply capable of maintaining the required vapour withdrawal rate. An undersized cylinder or insufficient LPG supply can result in cylinder frosting, falling supply pressure and reduced burner performance, particularly during prolonged operation.
The LPG supply, regulator, hose and associated equipment should therefore be appropriately sized for the selected burner and intended duty cycle.
Note: The above information represents typical operating performance only. Actual performance may vary depending on operating pressure, LPG supply, equipment condition, environmental conditions and operator technique.
